The Set Up: Joanna, a new librarian trainee at Canderfey University, is overwhelmed by the magical world around her and the attention of three handsome professors: Aiden, Callum, and Isaac. Their coven is searching for their fourth, but Joanna is sure she cannot be that person, since she barely has any magic. As danger creeps onto campus and feelings develop, Joanna must confront her abilities and identity.

Um, this was not for me. I’m (obviously) not opposed to romantasy, and I’m also not opposed to reading about less represented relationship types like polyamory, but this was just blah from beginning to end.

The story had a vaguely witchy atmosphere, but there was absolutely no world building to speak of, so there was never enough detail to grasp the magic system or the setting at all.

There didn’t seem to be a plot beyond “these three handsome men like me” until over halfway through. And since the dialogue was pretty stunted, none of the spicier moments felt earned to me.

The bones were there - librarian witch, magical university, THREE beautiful men - but god was it boring.
