Wild At Heart K.A. Tucker
400 pages | Published by Atria Books
Having moved to Alaska to be with her Yeti (Jonah), Calla is full of hope for what the future will hold for the two of them. Desperate to not repeat her mother's mistakes, Calla begins to struggle with her new life in Alaska - farther from a city than she'd like, no friends or family nearby, and Jonah busy with flying more often than not. Feeling isolated, Calla starts to doubt that she actually belongs in Alaska after all.
While not five stars for me I still absolutely loved this book. Calla and Jonah are just the best and are the standard I am now holding all future book couples to.
This was so wonderfully written (like the first) but, man, did it make me anxious. Jonah and Calla both grew a lot and had to make a lot of compromises which was great to see. While reading I could really feel the tension between the two of them (which like, good job, K.A. I should give this 5 stars?)
I absolutely loved the new characters and community they found. Calla and Roy's relationship was really special - the pair made me laugh as she really pushed him out of his shell.
While I'm happy to know where their story went after The Simple Wild, I can't say that I would re-read this one just because of the tension throughout the book but it is definitely a great addition to the first.
