Their first meeting is less than ideal, and the summer turns out to be drastically different than both of them expected.
AH I loved this book! This was kind of everything my nerdy little teenage heart yearns for. Some of the plot felt a bit rushed to me but overall I would definitely recommend this one to YA fans!
I thought Rishi was an absolute gem and just the sweetest guy. After their major miscommunication became clear, I thought he and Dimple were just adorable. I loved that we saw Dimple open up to not only a relationship with Rishi, but with Celia as well. Female friendships, for the win!
I'm making a conscious effort to diversify the stories that I read and I loved that Dimple and Rishi's Indian culture was infused throughout the book. Particularly when they're talking with their parents, they frequently spoke in Hindu and I liked pulling up translations to make sure I was getting the full conversation. I also enjoyed doing spot research on various things they would mention. Picking up a book that features a culture different than yours is such an easy way to expose yourself to new perspectives.
