Waiting for Tom Hanks

Kerry Winfrey

259 pages | Published by Berkley

Annie is rom-com obsessed and waiting, figuratively speaking, for her Tom Hanks to sweep her off her feet. When she gets a job on a movie set filming in her neighborhood, she meets the handsome star Drew who couldn't be any less like Tom Hanks if he tried.

I've been in a major reading slump so this took me a while to get through, surprisingly. The best bit, for me, was the nod to Columbus. So many books are set on the coasts and it was so much fun to read a book about streets that I can picture.

This was a three-star book for me - I found Annie to be a bit annoying and a little too over-the-top in terms of rom-com references. I mean I get that the book is called "Waiting for Tom Hanks" but she seemed a little too out of touch with reality.
