Minnie believes she was born unlucky - narrowly missing out on prize money for being the first baby born on January 1st. On her 30th birthday, she meets the man who was born one minute earlier, Quinn. Minnie has been sure all of these years that Quinn must have lead an incredibly charmed life, which we look back on in vignettes of New Year's Eve celebrations of the past.

Okay, I loved this book but it's only getting four stars because quite honestly, I needed a bit more steam. *shrugs*

I thought Minnie was relatable both in character traits and the fact that she needed some time to really get her life together. I loved her friendship with Leila and their crazy group of co-workers. I liked Quinn a lot but I wish we got more of him. He also makes major life changes but we didn't really get to see it as we did with Minnie.

My absolute favorite part of this book was the flashbacks through the different NYE celebrations of their lives and how they had been intertwined all this time. Finding those little nuggets of similarities was so fun.
