Ellen is in her final summer at home before college when her friend drags her along to check out a local Quidditch team. As things get tense at home and she feels like she's drifting from her friends, Ellen starts to look towards her new teammates for community.

HI SOMEONE PLAY QUIDDITCH WITH ME PLEASE!! I just think it's the coolest thing that people have made this fictional sport into a real international organization.

This was an easy breezy YA book with great representation and a lot of conversation about feminism, racism, and gender. It took me a bit to get into but ended up really enjoying it and it had some really touching family moments. I love books that make a point to discuss larger topics, which this did, but the book did feel a bit preachy at times. Granted, Ellen was pretty preachy so I guess it makes sense.
