The Set Up: Phoebe arrives alone at a beautiful coastal hotel dressed for an event she isn’t attending. While everyone assumes she’s part of a wedding party, Phoebe is there to fulfill a dream she had with her now-ex husband. As the bride’s perfectly planned weekend unfolds, Phoebe unexpectedly bonds with both the bride and the groom.

This was a really great story full of deeply complex and real characters. I thought Phoebe and Lila’s odd new friendship was really lovely. The book starts out pretty bleak which I struggled to get through, but as the story got going I came away thinking it was a pretty cozy and surprisingly funny read. I loved how Phoebe was learning to make her life what she wants it to be.

The writing style was not my favorite - a lot of the dialogue was summarized rather than fully written out, but the story had so much heart and was really meaningful.

I feel like this book would make for a great movie and I’m not surprised that I’ve been seeing everyone talk about it.
