The Twelve Dates of Christmas

Jenny Bayliss 320 pages | Published by G.P. Putnam's Sons

Thirty-something Kate lives in a small village, commuting to London for work when she needs to and baking for her best friend Matt's cafe. Wanting to give her love life a push, she signs up for Twelve Dates of Christmas through a dating service - twelve dates leading up to Christmas.

This is exactly the kind of cozy romance that I absolutely love. It felt very similar to something by Beth O'Leary. This is Jenny Bayliss' debut and I'm excited to see more from her.

I liked Kate a lot - she felt realistic and honest. I loved her friendship with Laura, and of course her relationship with Matt. Matt is up there in the list of book boyfriends for me. The entire village had major The Holiday vibes which is my favorite rom-com so of course, I was a big fan of it here.

This may be my last book of the year and I would say I'm ending my 2020 reads on a high note.
