The Set Up: To help save her family’s potion shop, Aria enters a competition to win ownership of a magical garden. Her magic has always been unpredictable, but to win she’ll need to figure it out - fast. Luckily, she has the help of her competitor and billionaire mage Callan.
This book was a bit meh for me. It was pretty cheesy, and I ended up skimming a good bit of it.
The writing was VERY voicey, and I didn’t really love the tone. I thought there was so much potential in the story’s competition aspect, but it all fell a bit flat, and some choices felt like they came out of nowhere. The goats?? I really should just stay away from any book with “hijinks” in the marketing copy.
There was a sweet romance and an adorable little family at the center, but there could have been A LOT more to this one.
