Carey has been a key part of home design stars Melissa and Rusty Tripp's growing empire, at great sacrifice to her own personal life. While the business and fame keep growing, Melissa and Rusty's relationship is deteriorating. On a book tour for their latest project, Carey and Rusty's handsome and infuriatingly smart new assistant James are desperate to keep the peace between the two before the entire business comes crumbling down.

I'm not sure it's possible for me to dislike a Christina Lauren book. Their stories are always a pretty unique concept, with fantastic romance and a lot of heart. But I super hope this isn't inspired by any true stories about Chip and Joanna Gaines.

I loved watching Carey become more assertive and realize that she has every right to go after what she wants too. James was another A+ bf from Christina Lauren. While I didn't love that Carey needed someone to go to bat for her, I was glad that James did and recognized how hard she was working.

The story structure was really fun - I loved that the book sucks you in with police transcripts and also peppered Twitter threads throughout.
