The Hating Game
Sally Thorne
365 pages | Published by William Morrow
Lucy and Josh spend 40+ hours a week together at work, which would be fine if they didn't hate each other. Since their publishing houses merged years ago, Lucy is sure that Josh despises her but she can't figure out why. Now, a huge promotion is on the table for one of them and Lucy knows if she doesn't get it, she'll resign. But after a surprising encounter on the elevator, Josh and Lucy start to get closer and call a cease-fire on their constant bickering.
THIS is enemies-to-lovers done so beautifully well I can't even stand it. The shift in their relationship happened sooner than I expected, but I didn't mind it.
I absolutely loved Lucy. She is quirky and relateable in a real way. I loved how she called herself out when she thought she was being a bit much - she felt like a real person to me, rather than "quirky rom-com protagonist."
Josh. That's it. That's really all I have to say. Big time heart eyes for Josh. I would like to go paintballing with Josh.
I cannot believe this is a debut novel. Thorne really went hard with this one. I'm an immediate fan and can't wait to read her other book and any others she writes for forever.
