Ruthie has her life all planned and her routines down - she lives and works at a retirement villa. But when the property is sold and the new owner's son Teddy comes to live next door, she begins to feel like she's been stuck all this time.
At first, I really didn't think I was going to like this one. Ruthie's narration is a bit erratic and felt disjointed at times, which I had a really hard time getting into. BUT at a certain point I really just fell in love with the characters and could not stop reading.
I felt so heartbroken for Ruthie and how separate she felt from everyone. I think anyone who's questioned their direction in life could relate to her. Teddy was the epitome of a ray of sunshine - it was no shock at all that his sisters called him Sunflower.
I think what really made this book special were the side characters - Melanie & the Parloni's. They were absolutely hysterical.
This didn't live up to The Hating Game for me but it was still a great read!
