Real Men Knit

Kerry grew up spending her days in the local knitting supply shop, eventually working there part-time with Mama Joy, beloved Harlem figurehead, and crushing on her adopted son Jesse. After Mama Joy's sudden death, Kerry and Jesse, along with his brothers, are left to try and save the knit shop any way that they can.

I think this book had so much potential but I just couldn't really get into it. I wanted more of everything - more plot, more romance, more brother dynamics. I never fully connected with the story and felt like I was always waiting for it to draw me in.

I could see the beginnings of a spark between Kerry and Jesse but never really felt it - I think we were told they had a deep connection without ever really seeing it. The whole story also felt really rushed. Where we should have seen the two of them getting closer, all we got was a sentence about how they got closer.
