Denver and her friends jump at the chance to make it big with legendary music producer Merc. But things quickly start to spiral out of control when they find themselves trapped in his world, and cut off from the world.

WOW this was incredible. So unlike anything I've ever read. The book is written in verse, which makes it a quick read, but it was such a cool way to tell this story.

Muted was a heartbreaking story, actually a bit more sinister than I had anticipated, but it really pulled me in. Around three-quarters of the way in I could NOT put the book down and it became a real page-turner. I didn't anticipate the book becoming a thriller which isn't typically my genre, but I really enjoyed it.

The book covered SO many topics it's actually pretty astonishing - race, sexuality, assault and abuse, fame, and even a bit of the power of social media. I absolutely recommend this one!

Thank you to Scholastic Press for the advanced copy of this book!
