Mary Jane

Mary Jane is fourteen and set up to be a nanny for a family in her neighborhood. She learns that the father of this free-spirited family, Dr. Cone, is actually a psychiatrist and one of his patients happens to be a rockstar who will be living with them to detox over the summer.
Mary Jane captured the bittersweet feeling of living out a perfect summer - when you know it will have to end but soaking up every moment while you can.
This book was not what I expected it to be. It was a sweet coming of age story and I did enjoy it, but the story was much more wholesome than I had anticipated. Based on the marketing I had seen, I was thinking the book would have a bit more grit to it.
