Instant Karma Marissa Meyer

390 pages | Published by Feiwel & Friends

Prudence finishes the school year with a less than stellar grade thanks to her charming but seemingly lazy lab partner Quint. Desperate for extra credit, she decides to volunteer at the local animal rescue center with Quint to prove that she can work with him as a teammate. After a weird night and a bump on the head, she finds herself able to enact instant karma on the wrongdoing she sees - and Pru can't wait to see Quint brought to justice after the headache he caused her all year long.

Such a cute book!! Beatles music, sea animals, beach town, enemies-to-lovers; this had a lot of things that I like. And now it has me seriously craving some time at the beach.

The karmic justice aspect was so cool! Haven't read anything like it before. Meyer wrote it into the contemporary setting really well - it didn't feel awkward or like trying to force two genres together.

I loved how dimensional ALL of the characters were - even the minor characters felt so fleshed out, it was easy to get a sense of who they all were. I especially loved Quint, which isn't a shock I'm sure. Prudence has to grow on you a bit, she is THAT controlling overachiever, but you can really tell by the end that she has good intentions.
