Gods & Monsters (Serpent & Dove #3)

The group has suffered a major loss and now has a new challenge - Lou has been possessed by the wraith Nicholina. In saving Lou and forming strong alliances to finally defeat King Auguste as well as the evil Morgane, Reid has to make a terrible sacrifice.

I'm still not quite as captivated by the trilogy as a lot of others seem to be (Lou is Throne of Glass Celeana/Aelin-light in my opinion), but this was a really engaging book and I think a very fitting end for the characters.

So many previous plotlines finally converged and we got a really satisfying second half of the story. Ansel's presence in the book was EMOTIONAL (still not over him) but the standout of the book for me was Celie. Compared to where she started in Serpent & Dove, she had a huge journey to really come into her own. What a prim & proper legend.

This was LONG though and for what felt like some repeating plot devices. First we lose Lou, and then we lose Reid - neither of which really lasted long enough to warrant a big payoff.
