The Set Up: Betrayed by her boyfriend, Maren returns to northern Wisconsin to fix up the run-down bait shop she inherited. She slips easily into the life of her brother’s best friend, Josiah, helping out with his kids. Their bond is effortless, but surely it’s too easy, right?

I absolutely adored this book. It had a great blend of romance and sweet cozy vibes. Maren and Joe were such lovable characters and I loved how naturally they fit into each other’s lives. There was also the perfect amount of spice.

My favorite part of the book was definitely the family element. Josiah’s kids were so sweet and their relationship with Maren really just warmed my heart.

The book was really just the right book for me at the right time. It was a great palate cleanser in my reading and of course brother’s best friend is always a win for me.
