Dee and Ben were childhood best friends, plus a little more. At the end of their senior year a blowout fight sends them both their separate ways. Ten years later, the two have still never spoken and Dee is now the host of a hit podcast. Dee is shocked when Ben shows up at her door to take the road trip they had planned in high school. Over the course of the trip the two of them confront their past while getting to know these adult versions of each other.

Y'all I LOVE a road trip! This book really captured the feeling of adventure but also the cozy side of a road trip as well. From choosing the perfect snacks and music to the weird attractions you can see along the way, this book had them all covered. Even a stray cat so you KNOW I have to give extra points for that.

I'm glad we got both perspectives in this book because I think we needed Ben's level-headedness. I loved Dee but at times she came across a bit too manic pixie. They balanced each other really well and I totally believed the intensity of their friendship. They were able to speak so open and honestly with each other in a way that I haven't really seen in other "friends first" stories.

Thanks to NetGalley & Berkley for the advanced e-book!
