A Court of Silver Flames (ACOTAR #4)

⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Court of Silver Flames (ACOTAR #4) Sarah J. Maas 757 pages | Published by Bloomsbury

Since the war, Nesta has been spiraling down and making progressively worse choices for herself. Fed up with her behavior and concerned for her, Feyre and Rhys decide that she is to live at the House of Wind and train with Cassian until she can pull herself out of her misery and learn to embrace her new life as High Fae.

This is a book about trauma reclaiming your power. I can 100% see how it could be triggering for people, but for me personally as a reader, I loved Nesta's story. I didn't love what was esentially a forced intervention, and had we not actually had Nesta's POV I would have found this to be a really troubling book. We HAD to be in her head to understand the root causes of her pain.

The support system she found was beautiful - not just in Cassian but in Emerie and Gwyn, and even her literal home. And it was so important to read that there is no one-way out or quick fix for trauma - it takes work, it takes patience, and a combination of any number of coping mechanisms to heal.

I wish Mor was more present in this book, but I anticipate we'll see her more in (hopefully) a future book, especially if it focuses on Azriel. (PLEASE FOCUS ON AZRIEL)
